Beachin book review

I just spent 40 minutes trying to synch a running playlist to my ipod. Unfortunatly, all of the sidewalks down here at the beach are made with sea shells = bumpy = blisters = my feet may just explode after the first song. Bye bye 40 minutes of my life I will never, ever get back.

Currently been occupied with some light beach reading: The Battle for America 2008: The Story of an Extraordinary Election by Dan Balz (one of my favorite WaPo reporters) and Haynes Johnson. Dad and I were watching an episode of MTP in which the authors were guests. Dad went out and got the book with a Father’s Day gift certificate from little bro and me. I put off my beach-friendly Janet Evanovich novel to dig into the 300+ pager for a few days — even though I consistantly tell him that it’s more productive to look forward instead of back when he says Barack Obama is my president and brings up some of the negative Obama campaign issues to prove his point. It’s been an interesting read, despite the fact that I already know the outcome (and almost got hypothermia at the inauguration!) The book is laid out chronologically, reading similarly to a novel with exceptional character development. They seem to really get inside all the major players’ heads. I’m halfway through and already I would recommend it. And, AU got a mention during an entire chapter on the Ted Kennedy endorsement. Bonus
